Keiko swimming free in Iceland after having spent 20 years in captivity

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keiko is better known as Willy in Free Willy! Keiko was the first captive whale to be attempted to be reintroduced to the wild. Keiko positively interacted with wild orcas, but never successfully integrated with a pod and preferred to spend his time near humans, probably since he spent majority of life in captivity. His reintroduction to the wild was unsuccessful, but imo it was a great effort for being the first attempt and helps us understand more of how to properly reintegrate captive orcas to the wild.

Thanks for the info sweetheart! Xo

The word “lunatic” was once a term for people with mental disorders believed to be caused by the moon. Until the 1700s, it was a common belief that the moon made people sick, a myth that has inspired many fictional ideas, stories, and creatures. Source

I don’t think it’s such a myth. So many people go ‘weird’ around the full moon. Me and daze-ied are prime examples
